Is Your Skin Winter Ready?
Winter is just around the corner. So while you are taking out your trench coats and boots, don’t forget to prep your skin for the cooler months. These tips will help you fight dry, flaky winter skin.
Here is our pre-winter to do list and a few tips for all winter long:
Exfoliate
Dead skin cells build up and make it harder for moisturising products to penetrate the skin. We recommend exfoliate 2-3 times a week in preparation for winter, but when winter begins take it back to once a week. Over exfoliation can reduce the barrier layer of the skin and losing this layer (especially in winter) lets more moisture evaporate from your skin. New to exfoliating? Try our Infiniti Facial Scrub with AHA’s.
Drink Water
Our skin is our largest organ. It depends on the water we drink to stay healthy and glowing. We tend to ignore our water intake in the winter because our body doesn’t get as thirsty as much as in the summertime. Aim to drink 2-3 liters of water a day. Set a notification in your phone to remind you to drink up!
Mask
After a full day in the cold, your skin needs a big dose of intensive hydration. Face masks are a surefire way to rejuvenate your skin in minutes. The detoxifying, hydrating and treatment process will make sure your skin is at its healthiest before winter and will keep your skin hydrated all winter long. We suggest masking 2-3 times a week and switching up the mask you use! We suggest the Firming Rejuvenation Mask and the Non-Surgical Face Lift Kit.
Start Including Oils
Oils retain the water content in the skin. They are a must in the colder months. Here’s a few ways to introduce oils into your winter skin regime.
- If your skin is feeling extra dry, switch your cleanser to our oil cleansing balm - Aloe Deep Cleanser. This type of cleanser will not strip your skin of vital moisture and leave your skin feeling soft and supple.
- Everyone should add the Vital Skin Oils to their night time winter routine. It will banish winter dullness. These botanical oils are a powerful recovery concentrate that calms and renews your skin by replacing essential nutrients.
- Finally, for the skin under your chin, start using the Essential Oils when you step out of the shower. It will deeply moisturise and nourish the skin. Oh and while we are on the topic of showers - make sure your showers aren't too hot! Piping hot showers will strip your skin and leave you feeling dryer than when you hopped in.
Hydrate & Moisturise
This is a must all year round, but we will reiterate - Hydrate and Moisturise! Both are essential to healthy skin. Hydration products like our 95% Aloe Hydrating Gel is the water for your skin. Moisturizers like Infiniti C Moisturiser are skin food. Just like your body, your skin needs both the water and food to function at its healthiest.
