MBL8 Concentrate consists of microscopic sized copper and lead particles in the 1-10 micron range, an Anti-Friction agent, an Anti-Corrosion agent, and Antifoam agent, and Antioxidant, a Particle Suspension agent and a Dispersant.
It is suitable for addition to the sump oil with mineral and most synthetic oils in 4 stroke petrol and diesel engines, 2 stroke diesel engines, manual transmissions, differentials, transfer cases, power steering and hydraulic systems.
It is not suitable for application to 2 stroke outboard engines, automatic transmissions including power shift transmissions, limited slip differentials, and in applications which include clutches or brakes that run in oil.
MBL8 should only be added to engine oils after 5,000km or 100 hours of engine operation.
Copper Particles
These particles become embedded in minute surface blemishes, and provide a smooth sealing surface for cylinder walls, piston rings, crankshaft and camshaft bearings, gear teeth, and help to minimise oil seal weepage through dust scratches. The copper particles also circulate with the oil to keep oil galleries clean, and to improve the heat transfer capabilities of the engine oil.
Lead Particles
These become embedded in minor imperfections in the above surfaces and improve the load carrying capacity of the lubricant. Both the copper and the lead particles only become embedded in surfaces that are under load. This is particularly beneficial in today’s highly loaded multi-valve/camshaft engines.
Anti-Friction Ingredient
This ingredient provides additional protection against scuffing under high load, and reduces the internal component friction. The highest loading in modern engines is found in the camshaft and valve areas.
Anti-Corrosion Ingredient
This ingredient assists in protecting components from the corrosive attack of combustion by-products in petrol, diesel and liquified petroleum gas engines. It also helps to prevent rust when components are not running.
Anti-Foam Ingredient
It is important to maintain the correct proportion of antifoam additive in oils. The quality of this ingredient added is calculated to maintain the desirable level in the oil.
Antioxidant
As oil becomes hotter, it becomes oxidised. This results in deterioration of the oil quality. The antioxidant ingredient helps maintain the oil in better condition during its service life. However, we do not recommend extending the Manufacturer’s scheduled oil change period.
Particle Suspension Agent
This ingredient helps hold the metal particles in suspension so that they can continue to perform their design function for the duration of the oil change period.
Particle Suspension Agent
This ingredient holds the carbon and sludge particles cleaned from the interior of the engine or housing, in suspension in the oil, so that they can be removed when the oil is drained.
These benefits can result in increased engine life, unless the engine is reaching its useful service life, easier starting, improved fuel economy, less load on the engine cooling system and reduced internal corrosion.
Overall Benefits
Gearboxes, transfer cases and differentials experience quieter and cooler operation, unless they have internal mechanical damage.
Hydraulic pump gears operate more quietly and cooler with the addition of MBL8 Concentrate. It is important to keep the exterior of these housings clean, as these components rely on dissipating heat to the surrounding air for cooling.
